The documentary „Come with me to the cinema – THE GREGORS“ combined 80 years of lived history with a hundred years of film history by relating the most important moments in the life of the extraordinary couple Erika & Ulrich Gregor. Today Erika is 86 and Ulrich 88. The stories they tell about their lives are amusing, tangible, socially relevant and entertaining. In an associative Montage, the filmed interviews with the Gregors will be interwoven with archival footage of Berlin, television reports about the Berlinale and political events. Together with excerpts from selected films as well as personal statements by directors, our documentary will create a filmic space, showing us what to a wonderful “window to the world” film and cinema can be – and inviting us to understand why the Gregors dedicated their life to film.
